WordPress error pages

You can have the most attractive, appealing, and well-operating website but still cannot get rid of those error pages. You cannot avoid people's frustration when they see a 404 error page and leave the website. But, you can do one thing; make a 404 error page user-friendly, having a positive output for your users. Keep reading to learn more about making those error pages a smooth user experience. Why do they even appear?

Non-existent pages

The last thing you want your users to experience is those frustrating error pages that seem rude sometimes. An error page tells the user that the page they are trying to visit does not exist anymore or is checked out. They may have selected a particular product that was sold before them.

Incorrect URL code

Entering the wrong URL code also leads to an error page. URL code is an encoding that allows your computer to search and locate a specific website you are trying to search for. Every website has its URL code. A wrong code will only lead you to a dead end.

Links

You can add links to your error page to prevent your customers or users from getting annoyed and frustrated. This will allow the users to return to where they ended without starting from the front page, which will be even more annoying after getting the error page in the first place. Adding links by WordPress website development software will enhance and increase the rating and ranking of the website. It's a plus point.

Adding other content

Suppose you were going to buy a particular product, selected it, and boom! An error page appears out of nowhere. You will be frustrated, right? What is the next thing you will want? Exit the entire website or find other options? You would go for other options if there WERE other options. So, why not add them to your error page?

A solution within an error

Users can have more than one option by adding a solution to an error page. They can either opt for other content or will want to find a solution to it. A solution can be found by asking or inquiring about it through customer service. That inquiry will be answered by a team of hosts operating that website. The more rating you want for your website, the faster the customer service should work.

Search options

If there is no option to find the rest of the content, a search bar or tool can be added. It becomes up to the user's need and what they want to buy if that particular product is checked out. This can lead to an increase in user experience, thus enhancing your brand's name. Some visitors leave the website as soon as they reach an error page. So, by having a search tool on the error page, search ranking will increase, forcing more traffic.

Friendly error page

Will the frustration come down if an error page is too cute? Or if there was a funny message in it that you couldn’t ignore? Adding an appealing, cute background with a humorous note, telling the users that they have ended up on an error page, can increase user experience and satisfaction.
